Disney is calling three of its lesser villains out of retirement to host a new show during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom this year.

The show, “Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular,” features the sister witches from the movie “Hocus Pocus” throwing a wild Halloween party. The show will take place on the Castle Forecourt State and will feature some of the great Disney villains, “along with dancers, projections and special effects,” according to the Disney Blog.
Don’t remember “Hocus Pocus”? You’re probably not alone. The 1993 movie starred Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy and involves a boy who is transformed into a black cat. Audiences liked the movie a whole lot more than critics, and it has achieved something like cult status. Each year it is part of ABC Family’s “13 Nights of Halloween” and always draws a strong audience.
There have been rumors about a “Hocus Pocus” sequel since last summer, when Tina Fey signed on to produce and star in a supernatural movie about witches. The resurrection of the Sandersen Sisters can only add fuel to those rumors.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party will be held on select nights at Magic Kingdom, Sept. 15-Nov. 1. Tickets are on sale now.
