Christian Louboutin remakes Disney’s Cinderella’s glass slippers

Cinderella’s iconic glass slippers have been remade by famed footwear designer Christian Louboutin.

The shoes were redone in honor of the Oct. 2 “Cinderella” Blu-ray Diamond Edition release.

The shoes, according to Disney, are made of delicate lace “adorned with crystals” and gives the slippers an enchanting look. “Two sparkling butterflies rest prettily on the shoes, one landing on the vamp while the other sits closely behind atop of the crystal (Swarovski, of course) covered heel, gently brushing the ankle. Louboutin’s signature red soles add the final dash of excitement as Cinderella’s slippers come alive.”

Louboutin, helped bring stilettos back into fashion in the 1990s and 2000s and is best known for his shiny, red-lacquered soles.

Louboutin will also appear in a special 10-minute short as a bonus on the Blu-ray and DVD called “The Magic of the Glass Slipper: A Cinderella Story.”

So how do you get a pair of these shoes? Well, they will not be available for purchase but 20 pairs will be given away this fall. Details of this will be released Aug. 17, according to Disney.
